TERANA is a persona created by Julia Strouk, a house music producer and vocalist based in Paris, France. From an early age, music has been a constant force in Julia’s journey. She began playing the piano at just 4 years old, started singing by 8, and explored electronic music production by 12—laying the groundwork for the dynamic soundscapes she creates today.

Despite her Parisian roots, Julia spent seven transformative years in Los Angeles, where she earned her degrees in Marketing and Global Business while launching her own clothing line. During this time, her passion for music deepened as she discovered the sounds of artists who profoundly moved her—such as Jan Blomqvist, Adriatique, Adam Ten & Mita Gami, Bora Uzer, and Goom Gum—each bringing distinctive and captivating elements to their signature sound that resonated deeply with her. Inspired by the transformative energy of these sounds and their ability to evoke powerful emotions of love, connection, and joy, Julia returned to her keyboard to create music that moves her, driven by a calling to spread love and unity through her art.

It was during this time of exploration that Julia’s project, TERANA, was born—a persona through which she performs and releases her music. Inspired by the Latin word "Tera," meaning “earth,” TERANA embodies a being from another dimension with a mission to spread love on earth. TERANA’s sound weaves hypnotic harmonies, driving grooves, organic textures, and Julia’s own recorded vocals–creating immersive and dynamic soundscapes that invite listeners to reconnect with themselves, each other, and the natural world.

As she moved back to Europe in 2024, Julia’s artistry started to capture the attention of influential figures in the industry. TERANA made her debut release, “Connection,” on the esteemed GERMANY-based record label Sublease Music, founded by one of house music's originals Steve Bug. This milestone marked a significant step in Julia’s artistic journey, showcasing her growth as a producer and establishing her as a rising artist in the electronic music world. 

Beyond production and performance, Julia developed a deeper curiosity about the healing power of sound. For her, music has always been more than a form of self-expression. "It is a place where I reconnect with myself, find peace, and restore my strength to keep moving forward in life with resilience and purpose,” she said.

Fascinated by the transformative effect music had on her own well-being, Julia began to study cymatics and sound therapy, exploring how vibrations influence the body at a cellular level to promote balance and overall wellness. This deeper understanding of sound’s transformative potential enriches TERANA’s artistry, blending scientific insight with musical expression to create profound and resonant experiences for her audience.
